In 2023, some 61.89 million passengers utilized Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to fly to and from their desired destination. This was an 18 percent decrease compared to the previous year, when passenger traffic amounted to over 52 million.

According to a survey regarding the expansion to Lelystad Airport by 2020, nearly half of the respondents agreed with the plans, whereas 35 percent of the individuals were against such an expansion.

In 2019, most of the passengers used public transport to travel to and from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. More than 47 percent of the respondents indicated that they went by public transport, whereas nearly 20 percent got dropped off by car. Parking at the airport got less and less popular, as it decreased annually from 13.6 percent in 2013 to 10.3 percent in 2018.
