Alcohol use in India is influenced by regional differences in social norms and legal restrictions, often defined by state-specific regulations. In 2024, the per capita alcohol consumption in the country was estimated to be over five liters of pure alcohol. Of all the states, Arunachal Pradesh, Telangana, and Sikkim reported high levels of alcohol consumption among males. On the other hand, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim had the highest alcohol consumption among women too, highlighting the distinct consumption patterns across various demographics.

United Spirits notably recorded revenue exceeding 100 billion Indian rupees for the same year.
