The value of exports from SEZs amounted to 12.6 trillion Indian rupees across India in financial year 2023. Special Economic Zones or SEZs for short, are geographic regions within the country that have more liberal economic laws to promote FDIs from investors as compared to the domestic law of the land. SEZs have their own specific set of laws. Of the 276 SEZs in the country, 167 came under the IT and ITEs segment.
