As of June 2023, Vodacom remains the leading mobile provider in Tanzania with a 30 percent market share of mobile subscriptions. Airtel and Tigo ranked second and third, respectively, firmly dividing the market between the three major companies. In total, Vodacom had over 19.1 million subscriptions by June 2023, whereas Aitel and Tigo had around 17.5 million subscriptions each, respectively.
