This statistic displays the results of two surveys conducted in May and August 2016, showing the ways in which UK consumers now book travel due to security concerns. The surveys were intentionally carried out before and after the June 2016 referendum, which saw the United Kingdom vote to leave the European Union ('Brexit'). In August 2016, 19 percent of respondents said they will choose deals that can be cancelled with a refund. Prior to the Brexit vote, only 10 percent said they would choose such a deal.
