Share of Indian imports FY 2023, by commodity
Crude petroleum was the most imported commodity into India, at about 22 percent in fiscal year 2023. This was an increase of 32.4 percent compared to the previous fiscal year, indicating an increase in demand in the south Asian country. Coal, coke and briquettes came in second at around 6.9 percent, an increase of over 56 percent compared to the previous year.
