The statistic displays the regions with the lowest urban poverty population across India in 2011-12, distributed by states and union territories. With some 3.4 percent of its population living under the urban poverty line, the union territory of Lakshadweep had the lowest urban poverty share that year, followed by the state of Sikkim with over 3.6 percent of its urban population living in poverty.

Note: Andaman and Nicobar islands did not report any urban population living in poverty during that time period.
Poverty line was calculated with the Mixed Reference Period method (MRP) which measures consumption of five low-frequency items (clothing, footwear, durables, education and institutional health expenditure) over a one year period, and all other items over the previous 30 days.
