Caesarean sections conducted in Germany 2010-2020

In 2020, the number of caesarean sections conducted in Germany increased by 3,605 surgeries (+1.57 percent) since 2019. In total, the number of caesarean sections amounted to 233,953 surgeries in 2020. This increase was preceded by a declining number of caesarean sections.

According to Eurostat, this includes the number of deliveries by caesarean section in general hospitals. Data on caesarean section include only inpatient cases, day cases are excluded.
