According to a 2021 study carried out in Italy, over 35 percent of wine sales were due to grocery retailers, while the Ho.Re.Ca channel accounted for almost 16 percent of the market. In Italy, wholesalers still played a relevant role, as they made up 18.4 percent of the total wine sales revenue.
