Based on the domestic production value, Versalis was Italy's leading chemical company in 2023, with domestic sales valued at approximately 2.9 billion euros. In second place that year was Mapei Group, with domestic Italian sales amounting to 1.2 billion euros. These two companies also accounted for the biggest worldwide sales of chemical products in Italy in 2023.
