Leading full service restaurants in the Netherlands 2015, by number of branches

The statistic illustrates the leading full service restaurants in the Netherlands in 2015, by number of branches. La Cubanita, a restaurant with a tapas concept, had 40 restaurants in the Netherlands. De Beren full-service restaurant came second with 26 restaurants, whereas the restaurants Humphrey's and Sumo amounted to 19 restaurants, ending up on a shared third place. AC Restaurants, which are motorway restaurants, had 17 branches across the Netherlands. However, Dutch supermarket Jumbo took over AC Restaurants and will transform it into La Place, the concept Jumbo bought in 2016 from V&D after it went bankrupt.
Looking at the general development of restaurants, it can be seen that the number of restaurants increased to roughly 15,500 restaurants in 2018. This is an increase of roughly 600 restaurants compared to 2017.
