In 2016, most visitors coming to Disneyland Paris theme park were French. French tourists to the park represented almost half of visitors. Disneyland Paris, also called Euro Disney, was also popular among British tourists which accounted for 17 percent of visitors in 2016. That year, the park welcomed more than 8 million visitors.

Disneyland Paris is located in the city of Marne-la-Vallée, 32 km northeast of Paris. Opened in 1992, it welcomes millions of visitors every year, making it the theme park with the highest attendance in Europe. Disneyland contains two parks, several on-site hotels, and a shopping, dining and entertainment area called Disney Village. In 2016, the average spending at the park reached 54 euros per guest including the daily admission price, as well as spending on food, drinks and other services and merchandises. A family’s budget to visit Disneyland Paris has been increasing for years, but the amusement park remains popular among French people and foreign tourists.

The fact that Disneyland Paris is located in France undoubtedly explains the over-representation of the French in the percentage of visitors. However, it seems that French people are more willing than other nations to visit their own country. In 2016, domestic trips represented more than 41 percent of travels taken in France. French people are amongst the Europeans who stay the most in their country during holidays.
