Ranking of cinema movies in Denmark April 2019, by number of admissions
In April 2019, the most viewed movie in Danish cinemas was the fourth installment of the Avengers series with the title Endgame. Nearly 300 thousand people watched the movie based on the Marvel Comics. The Danish drama Dronningen came second, with roughly 226 thousand admissions that month.

The cinema ticket price in Denmark increased in recent years, reaching almost 90 Danish kroner as of 2017. Nevertheless, the number of admissions remained quite stable in the last decade. As of 2018, the amount of people going to the cinema even grew a little to 12.5 million compared to the previous year.

In 2018, around 500 movies were shown in Danish cinemas. Compared to ten years earlier, this was a decrease of more than 100 films. Roughly 90 movies from Denmark were shown in the country’s cinemas in 2018. This means, that domestic films shown accounted for only 17 percent of the total amount.
