In January 2022, transactions worth over 877 billion Indian rupees were made through credit cards in India at point of sale. This was a significant decrease compared to over 600 billion rupees in November 2019. Nevertheless, this value showed a recovery of the credit card business after the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic hit the Indian economy in April and May 2020.
