The gross wages index measures the dynamic of the “de facto” wages and salaries per full-time equivalent units (FTEs). FTEs indicate the volume of labor input and are calculated as a ratio of total remunerated hours and the average standard number of hours worked by a full-time employee, as defined by the National collective agreements. In the first quarter of 2024, the gross wages index in industry and services in Italy stood at 104.5, an increase compared to the same quarter of the previous year. In the last quarter of 2023, the index reached 104.7.
