In the 2021 financial year, 94.2 percent of children aged 14 to 17 years old in Australia did not meet the recommendations for daily intake of vegetables. The share of children aged two to three eating enough vegetables per day is higher than any other age group, but still low with less than one third of children aged between 2 and 3 years old consuming enough vegetables on a daily basis.

Children aged 4-8: 4.5 serves.
Children aged 9-11: 5 serves.
Children aged 12-19: 5.5 serves.
One serve corresponds to half a cup of cooked vegetables (including legumes) or one cup of salad vegetables which is equivalent to approximately 75 grams.
Vegetable juice was excluded from the data.
Includes potatoes and legumes.
