The impact of the shadow economy on the overall value added in Italy was 10.1 percent. It particularly impacted in the sector of personal services. Moreover, a large effect was observed also in trade, transport, accommodation, and food, as well as in the construction sector. The total value of the untaxed economy exceeded 100 billion euros in 2022.
