Antibiotics are medications that can kill or hinder the growth of bacteria which cause infections in people and animals. In 2018, 34 percent of respondents in Slovakia reported that they had taken oral antibiotics in the previous 12 months, this was just above the European 28 average at 32 percent, while 64 percent of respondents in Slovakia reported that they had not taken oral antibiotics in the previous 12 months.
