In 2018, the three Italian regions with the largest bus fleets in operation were Lazio, Campania, and Lombardy. In Lazio there were about 12 thousand buses in use, about a thousand more than the bus populations in Campania and Lombardy. Lombardy, however, was the region with the largest number of vehicles in operation.
