Antibiotics are medications that can kill or hinder the growth of bacteria which cause infections in people and animals. In 2018, 35 percent of respondents in Croatia reported that they had taken oral antibiotics in the previous 12 months, this was above the European Union average at 32 percent. 65 percent of respondents in Croatia reported that they had not taken oral antibiotics in the previous 12 months.
