Number of foreign movie releases in South Korea 2004-2023
In 2023, the number of foreign films released in South Korea fell to 876 movies. This represents a decrease from the previous year and continues a trend of decline that began after hitting a peak in 2017. Despite this, the number of foreign films released in South Korea yearly is still far higher than it was at the beginning of the millennium, when only a few hundred movies would be released for Korean audiences per year.
