Data on the number of hate crimes which involved violence and resulted in an injury of the victim in England and Wales from April 2015 to March 2020, sorted by motivational factor, shows that in 2019/20, the most hate crimes by a distance amounted to 4.7 thousand cases and were found to be motivated by racial discrimination. The subsequent figures were recorded to be violent offences due to the sexual orientation of a victim.
