Revenue of printed and digital newspapers in Norway 2014-2022
In Norway, the revenue from printed newspapers was almost twice as high as the revenue of digital newspapers in 2020, with digital revenue at 4.04 billion Norwegian kronor and print revenue at 7.2 billion. However, as digital revenue climbs each year, print continues to fall. This trend also continued in 2022, when revenue from printed newspapers dropped below 6.6 billion NOK, whereas the digital revenue surpassed 5.6 billion NOK for the first time. Back in 2014, printed newspaper revenue stood at over 11.5 billion NOK, but fell below 10 billion two years later and steadily decreased ever since. Meanwhile, in the period between 2014 and 2021, digital newspaper revenue more than doubled.
