Number of residential real estate transactions in the Netherlands 2015-2023
In the Netherlands, between 28,000 and 47,000 homes were sold per quarter since 2015. In the third quarter of 2023, transactions activity increased slightly from the same quarter the year before, reaching 33,000 housing transactions. These figures include transactions by real estate agents from the Nederlandse Vereniging van Makelaars (NVM), an association which comprises approximately 75 percent of the total market and over 4,400 association members. Property prices in the Netherlands have grown steadily since 2013, despite the fluctuations in housing transactions during the period.
