This statistic shows the frequency that doctors in the U.S. explained the costs associated with recommended procedures and whether they would be covered by the patient's health insurance as of 2015. It was found that 35 percent of respondents who had trouble paying medical bills in the past 12 months said that their doctor never explained the costs associated with recommended procedures.
