Between the season 2010/2011 and 2018/2019, the number of amateur clubs registered with the Italian Football Federation decreased gradually. In 2010/2011, clubs of the National Amateur League amounted to 11.4 thousand. In 2018/2019, this figure went down to nine thousand.
