In 2009, a person in the Netherlands on average ate approximately 87.2 kilos of meat per year. By 2021, this had decreased by roughly nine kilos, to approximately 78.5 kilos per person per year. In the same period, the majority of the meat expenditure was spent on charcuterie, as this statistic on the consumer spending shows. Per capita, the Dutch spent approximately 93 euros on charcuterie in 2020.
