In 2023, the total number of travel and tourism jobs in Europe nearly recovered from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, being roughly five percent lower than in 2019. Overall, travel and tourism generated, directly and indirectly, around 36.7 million jobs in the region in 2023. The number of jobs was expected to surpass pre-pandemic levels in 2024, reaching an estimated 39.1 million.
