Total assets of the banking sector in Italy 2007-2017
This statistic illustrates the value development of assets (financial assets when available, otherwise total assets) for all banking institutions in Italy from 2007 to 2017. It can be seen that the total assets of Italian banks increased overall during this period, from a value of more than 3.4 trillion U.S. dollars in 2002 to a total value of over four trillion U.S. dollars as of 2017. Although this was the case, the largest value recorded in the period under observation was found in the year 2012, when banking institutions in Italy held assets totaling more than 4.5 trillion U.S. dollars.
