In 2021, over 2.5 billion hot drinks were purchased by Italians at vending machines. The places where these drinks were consumed could not be more different from each other. In Italy, 34 percent of vending machines are in manufacturing facilities, 14 percent in offices, 17 percent are in stores as well as in schools and universities.
More vending machines
The number of vending machines in Italy has increased. The biggest player in the industry, IVS Group, installed almost 225 million vending machines in 2020, up from previous years.
Italian export
Italy is also a great exporter of vending machines. In 2017, 26 million vending machines were exported to Germany, while the Netherlands imported 14 million machines.
