This survey shows the share of respondents who have used a mobile payment app in the Benelux countries from 2015 to 2016, by country. Between 2015 and 2016, Dutch respondents indicated they use mobile payment apps more than respondents from other Benelux countries. Mobile payment apps are pieces of software made for the ease of making payments on smartphones and tablet devices. Examples of this include mobile wallets, such as PayPal, Apple Pay, Android Pay and Samsung Pay, as well as specifically designed apps from banks or retail companies. The user clicks directly on the app to pay, opposed to online banking or logging on with a web browser to a web store. In the last years, the number of available mobile payment apps in the Benelux countries steadily increased.
