In 2023, sports was the type of private amusement and recreation construction with the highest value in the United States. That segment of the construction industry amounted to 4.1 billion U.S. dollars that year, followed by social centers, theme and amusement parks, and performance and meeting centers put in place by the private sector. Theme and amusement park spending decreased every year between 2017 and 2021, but increased after that again.
