In the second quarter of 2024, 23.94 million people had a job in Italy. In particular, 16 million individuals were permanently employed and 2.8 million people were temporary employees, whereas 5.1 million individuals were self-employed. Since the first quarter of 2019, the number of permanent workers gradually increased, while figures for those with a temporary contract and the self-employed remained stable.
