Estimated number of Netflix streaming subscribers in Poland 2016-2020

Poles who are keen on watching movies through streaming sites can subscribe to various video streaming services available in the market. According to the estimation, there will be approximately 793.7 thousand active streaming subscribers to Netflix in Poland in 2020. This would be an increase of over 44 percent from the previous year.

Netflix in Poland

   As of the first quarter of 2020, Netflix has generated 27.43 million U.S. dollars of revenues in Poland, and they are expected to increase further. Moreover, during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in Poland, Netflix was the leading video on demand (VoD) service in terms of the number of real users. By the end of the year, Netflix is expected to generate a streaming revenue of 74.11 million U.S. dollars in Poland.

Netflix in the VoD market

  In 2020, Polish subscribers had access to 3,398 movie and TV show titles on the Netflix platform, out of which 93 were award-winning productions. In the previous year, the highest-rated Netflix Original production was Our Planet, which Polish viewers rated 9.14 out of 10. The streaming service’s wide variety of movies and series was appreciated by 62 percent of Poles, which is why it was considered the leading reason for subscribing. The reach of Netflix and its leading position in the Polish VoD market is also evidenced by the fact that Poles sometimes associate other big non-Netflix productions with the streaming platform and attempt to find them in combination with Netflix. For example, in 2019, the search term "game of thrones netflix" had about five thousand hits per month.
