U.S. smartphone app discovery channels 2017

This statistic presents a selection of the leading smartphone app awareness and discovery channels of users in the United States as of June 2017. During the survey period, it was found that 20 percent of survey respondents became aware of smarthone apps through word of mouth recommendations from family and friends. Advertising and marketing channels such as digital or print ads had the lowest importance for user acquisition.
