A study carried out in 2023 showed that Italian companies sold their products or services online or through EDI channels with big differences among sectors. In the manufacturing of transport equipment, the share of online sales out of total revenue amounted to 41.95 percent, while the average for all economic activities did not exceed 18 percent.
