During the survey period, it was found that eight percent of responding individuals in the United Kingdom (UK) reported that they would be willing to use their mobile phones to make in-store payments, regardless of the amount.

* Original survey question was phrased as following:
"If a solution whereby you would be able to pay in shops by using your mobile phone, similar to how you use debit or credit card, would become available, would you use it?" ** This includes 3,557 respondents from the UK and 14,354 respondents from the rest of Europe.
The source adds the following information: "Rest of Europe consists of France, Germany, Spain, Norway, Finland, Netherlands, Russia, Italy, and Sweden. In Russia, the online research approach used leads to a high concentration of urban professionals. These respondents are likely to be relatively high earners within their country. For other countries, the sample is noticeably representative."
