Leading mortgage providers in the Netherlands 2023, by market share
Banks accounted for the largest share of mortgage lending in the Netherlands in the second quarter of 2023. The top three banks in the Netherlands alone were responsible for over 45 percent of mortgage lending in that period.
In recent years, the housing market has continued to rise in the Netherlands due to the asset purchase programme (APP) of the European Central Bank and the, consequently, low mortgage rates. This can be seen in the, the number of registered transactions, which has risen by over 100 percent since 2013.
