The statistic displays the results of a survey on the leading reasons why people engage in sport or physical activity in Belgium in 2013 and 2017. The survey was conducted via face-to-face interviews and gathered data from 1,077 respondents in December 2013 and 1,001 respondents in December 2017, from Belgium. In 2013, it was found that 16 percent of respondents stated that they engage in sport or physical activity in order to to improve their physical appearance.
