The total insurance and financial services as a share of commercial service exports in the United Kingdom decreased by one percentage points (-4.18 percent) in 2023 in comparison to the previous year. The share thereby reached its lowest value in recent years. The share of insurance includes freight insurance on goods exported and other direct insurance such as life insurance. The share of financial services includes financial intermediation services such as commissions, foreign exchange transactions, and brokerage services, as well as auxiliary services such as financial market operational and regulatory services.
