The total insurance and financial services as a share of commercial service exports in Italy increased by 0.7 percentage points (+8.89 percent) in 2023. In total, the share amounted to 8.56 percent in 2023. This increase was preceded by a declining share. The share of insurance in the commercial services exports refers to freight insurance on goods exported and other direct insurance such as life insurance. The share of financial services refers to financial intermediation services such as commissions, foreign exchange transactions, brokerage services, as well as auxiliary services such as financial market operational and regulatory services.
