This statistic displays the results of a survey on the distribution of people who do vigorous physical activity in the European Union (EU) in 2017, by gender and duration. The survey was conducted via face-to-face interviews and gathered data from 19,982 respondents who had been involved in vigorous physical activity within the previous week, across Europe. In 2017, it was found that 34 percent of male respondents stated that they usually spend 31 to 60 minutes on vigorous physical activities such as lifting heavy things, digging, aerobics or fast cycling. More information about sports in Europe can be found in the Dossier: Fitness industry in Europe.
