Lake Garda, known in Italy as Lago di Garda, is the largest lake in the country in terms of surface and the third deepest among all Italian lakes. Located in the north of the country on the border of three Italian regions - Lombardy, Veneto and Trentino-South Tyrol - Lake Garda is on the best-known tourist destinations for lake lovers in the country.

Located on the southeast of the lake, Gardaland, a theme park founded in 1957, is one the most visited funfairs in Italy. In 2018 it was the eight most-visited theme park in Europe.

The lake surroundings are an attractive area for property buyers. In 2016, more than a half of individuals purchasing properties around Lake Garda were Germans. In the year considered, the number of German buyers exceeded the number of buyers from Italy.
