The source states that "the international investment position (or IIP) of Luxembourg aims to capture, for the considered end-of period, all the assets and liabilities the residents are holding vis-à-vis non-residents. It provides indications on the amount and the structure of the financial assets of residents with foreign assets and with non-residents in Luxemburg liabilities. The IIP is established on a quarterly basis (in particular to fulfil the needs of the European Central Bank)".
