The United States refined more than 45,000 kilograms (or 45 metric tons) of platinum in 2022. The quantity of platinum refined in the U.S. has seen an overall increase in the period of consideration, climbing from just 5.4 metric tons in 2010 to a high of 47.6 metric tons in 2021.
