Harrods Limited: gross profit worldwide 2012-2024
In the financial year 2023/24, Harrods' gross profits surpassed 556 million British pounds, their best figure since the financial year ending in 2019. It was also an increase on the previous financial year when the company made roughly 533 million British pounds profit. The high-end luxury department store is primarily located in its Knightsbridge store in London.
Harrods will be Harrods
It is safe to say that Harrods is more than a department store. In its iconic 7-store London building, it situates itself as a landmark and a major tourist attraction, while at the same time enjoying significant sales revenue. From 2012, annual turnover figures of Harrods climbed on a steady course, reaching over one billion British pounds in the 2018/19 financial year, before dropping during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020/21 turnover had fallen to roughly 484 million pounds, before exceeding one billion once more in the latest financial year.
Harrods goes e-commerce
Early in 2019, Harrods announced it was entering into an exclusive e-commerce partnership with Farfetch, the marketplace retailer focusing on selling luxury and high-end fashion. Harrods’ decision to team up with Farfetch is not farfetched at all: the pureplay online retailer has stormed the e-commerce scene since it was founded in 2007, exponentially increasing its annual revenue along the way.
