In 2024, Equinor - a Norweigan energy company was the leading Nordic brand with a brand value of 16.75 billion U.S. dollars. IKEA - a Swedish furniture retailer - ranked second with 15.79 billion dollars in brand value.

Swedish brands are most valuable in the Nordics

In 2024, the ranking of the top 10 Nordic brands was dominated by Swedish companies, such as the clothing and fashion retailer H&M or the bank Nordea. That year, engineering brands accounted for the highest share of the total value of Nordic brands, followed by retailers and energy brands. 

World’s largest toy manufacturer brand: Lego

One of the noteworthy brands to come out of the Nordics is - a family-owned toy manufacturer - Lego (Lego Group or Lego A/S). Established in 1932 by Ole Kirk Kristiansen, the company was the leading toy brand worldwide with a wide margin in 2024, beating its closest competitors, Bandai Namco, Fisher-Price, and Barbie. Furthermore, the toy industry continued to expand in recent years. In 2024, the toy industry's total revenue amounted to 129.5 billion dollars, up from 126 billion dollars in 2023.
