This statistic shows the total remote payment transactions in the Netherlands with a (smart)phone or tablet from the third quarter of 2014 to the second quarter of 2019 (in thousands). In the second quarter of 2019, approximately 88 million payments were made in the Netherlands with the use of either a smartphone or a tablet. In the Netherlands, larger Fintech-services such as Android Pay, Apple Pay and Pay from Samsung are not yet being released. Dutch banks, such as ING and Rabobank, however, support and develop new payment methods.
