This statistic shows a distribution of respondents to a survey question designed to find out if those residing in Scotland think they should keep the same monarch as England or have their own President if, in September 2014, Scotland votes 'Yes' to become an independent nation. In January 2013, the majority of respondents (62 percent) said that they thought Scotland should keep the same queen/king as England if the country leaves the union of the United Kingdom. Whether this would actually be possible, was not under consideration.
If Scotland became an independent country, separate from the rest of the UK, should it keep the same King or Queen as England, or should it have its own President instead?
