The opening ceremony of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing drew 16 million U.S. viewers. This marked a 43 percent decline from the previous one in 2018 and a new record-low since NBCUniversal started broadcasting the sporting event. The 2010 winter opening ceremony had the highest U.S. viewership, with a total of about 32.7 million people.
